(see photo at left) Christina's sponsoring teacher is Ms Susan Rhoades. The middle school winner is Craig Blike, a student at Akron's Miller South Middle School. His project, titled "All Fired Up," was a study of the flammability of children's pajamas made of cotton, nylon, polyester, and nylon/polyester blend. His sponsoring teacher is Ms. Louise Heydorn. This year, there were ten projects at the high school level and three at the middle school level. This represented about 10% of the projects in the science fair. The high school winner received a $100 prize. The middle school winner received $50. Each of the sponsoring teachers received a matching award.
